Of Policies and a poor Shaggy dog
I love animals and am an owner of a cat and a dog. Reading about a celebrity pleading to the "rescue organization" for the return of a pet dog to the family she gave it to was heart wrenching. Reading updates about it has made me furious at the "rescue organization" since , BUT am not going to threat them with lynching or anything…
I understand where both parties are coming from, the celebrity had found a good home and the dog loves the family. While the "rescue organization" is sticking to policy to prevent future breaches.
Still, the focus of this whole thing is the PUPPY"S HAPPINESS and PLACEMENT in a good home. Can't the operators of the "rescue organization" just amend the contract and stipulate a fine for transferring ownership and assessing the puppy's default 'family' as suitable? How about proposing and contacting the hairdresser and have her apply for the puppy?
It is rather sad that the best interests of the puppy are forgotten over policy and PRIDE. Makes me think if rescue organizations were this policy driven then the dogs are not as better off as these organizations make it seem. The puppy so far isn't rescued because it is bonded to the company by policy…doesn't say much for the 'rescue group'.
